Privacy and Data

The calculators on this site run in your browser, and the numbers you type into them are never sent to a server.

What stays on your device

The calculators run in the browser, and the numbers you enter, such as lot size, entry price or margin, are processed on your device and never transmitted to us. We do not store them, log them or pass them to a broker, and there is no account on this site that could hold them.

Local storage on your device holds your own preferences, such as a chosen display setting, so the page behaves the way you left it. That storage belongs to your browser, you can clear it at any time, and clearing it does not affect anything on our side because we never had a copy.

How long anything is kept and what deletes it

Nothing that identifies you is kept because nothing that identifies you is collected. Anonymous analytics data is kept for up to 24 months from collection, after which it is automatically deleted by the analytics provider. Preference cookies expire according to their set lifetime, typically 30 days for calculator settings and 12 months for cookie consent. Affiliate tracking cookies last as long as the broker's affiliate program specifies, usually 30 to 90 days. You can delete any cookie earlier by clearing your browser data.

Emails you send us are kept only until the issue is resolved and then deleted, normally within 90 days. Server logs, if any, are stripped of IP addresses and kept for 30 days for security purposes, then deleted. We do not keep backups of personal data because we do not store personal data. The calculators do not save anything to a server, so there is no retention period for calculator inputs; closing the tab or refreshing the page clears them.

Deletion happens automatically for analytics and logs, and manually for emails once the conversation ends. You can trigger deletion of cookies at any time through your browser settings. If you want us to delete an email you sent, ask us and we will do so within 7 days. There is no archive of personal data to delete because none is created. The site's design deliberately minimizes retention by not collecting what it does not need.

Cookies and what each kind is for

Cookies on this site fall into three groups: essential, preference, and analytics. Essential cookies keep the page working, for example by remembering that you have accepted the cookie notice. Preference cookies store your chosen settings, such as the currency symbol ₹ or the last calculator you used, so you do not have to re-enter them. Analytics cookies count visits and see which pages are popular; they do not identify you. No cookie on this site is used for advertising or profiling.

Each cookie has a specific job. The essential cookie for cookie consent lasts up to 12 months and remembers your choice. A preference cookie for the gold calculator might store your last lot size (e.g., 0.10 lots) for 30 days so the tool opens with your usual input. Analytics cookies, set by us or a third-party service, last up to 24 months and record only aggregated data like page views and time on page. None of these cookies contain your name or contact details.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop some features from working, but the calculators will still function because they run entirely in your browser. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your experience; it only means we get less information about which pages are useful. The site does not use cookies to track you across other websites, and it does not sell cookie data to anyone. A full list of cookie names and durations is available on request.

What the site stores and what it does not

The site stores only what you type into the calculators and your basic browser preferences; it does not store your name, email, phone number, or any trading account credentials. The calculator inputs, such as lot size or entry price, stay in your browser's memory for the session and are not saved to a server. Preferences like your chosen currency symbol (₹) are kept in a cookie or local storage so the page displays correctly on your next visit. No personal identification is required to use any tool on the site.

The site does not store any funding details, bank account numbers, UPI IDs, or card information because it never asks for them. Funding methods such as local INR bank transfers, cards, or e-wallets are handled entirely by the broker you choose, not by this site. We also do not store your IP address in a way that links to you personally; any server logs are stripped of identifying data before storage. The only persistent data is anonymous usage counts and your display preferences.

What the site stores is limited to non-identifying technical data: the pages you visit, the calculators you open, and the device type you use. This helps us understand which tools are useful. It does not store your trading history, your broker account number, or any KYC documents. If you email us, we keep your message only as long as needed to reply, then delete it. Nothing you enter in a calculator is ever transmitted to a broker or third party by the site itself.

Third parties involved

The third parties involved are the brokers we link to (such as FxPro Markets Ltd.), the affiliate networks that manage tracking, and an analytics provider. Each has its own privacy policy. The broker receives the referral click and any information you choose to give them during account opening. The affiliate network sets the tracking cookie and reports aggregated clicks to us. The analytics provider processes anonymized usage data. No other third parties receive data from this site.

The broker serving India is FxPro Markets Ltd., which is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by SEBI. That means any personal data you provide to the broker is governed by their policies and the regulations they follow, not by Indian SEBI rules. The affiliate network and analytics provider are contractually bound to use data only for the purposes we specify. We do not share calculator inputs with any third party. The site itself does not transfer personal data to third parties because it does not collect personal data.

Third-party cookies are set only when you interact with a broker link or when analytics loads. You can block third-party cookies in your browser without breaking the calculators. The analytics provider we use is configured to anonymize IP addresses and not to track you across other sites. We do not use social media pixels or advertising networks. A current list of third parties and their roles is available on request, and we update it if the list changes.

What we do count

We keep aggregate traffic counts, meaning page views and similar totals that tell us which pages are read. These are counts, not profiles, and they are not used to identify a reader or to build an advertising audience. We do not run a login, a newsletter signup or a comment system that would collect personal details.

If you email [email protected], that message and your address exist in the mailbox because you sent them. We use them to answer you and for nothing else, and we do not add the address to a marketing list.

Affiliate tracking stated plainly

When you click a link to a broker such as FxPro, the site may earn a commission if you open an account; this is affiliate tracking. The tracking works by placing a cookie on your device when you click the link, which tells the broker that the visit came from this site. That cookie does not contain your personal data; it only carries a reference code. The commission does not change what you pay the broker, and it does not influence the factual content of our pages.

Affiliate tracking is limited to the broker link you click. If you later visit the broker directly, the tracking cookie may still be present for its lifetime, typically 30 to 90 days depending on the broker's terms. The cookie records the click, not your trades or your account balance. We do not receive information about your trading activity or your identity from the broker. The tracking is used solely to attribute the referral.

You can avoid affiliate tracking by not clicking broker links, by using a browser that blocks third-party cookies, or by clearing cookies after visiting. The site does not require you to click any broker link to use the calculators or read the content. If you do click, the broker's own privacy policy applies to any data you provide to them. We do not store the affiliate cookie on our servers; it is set by the broker's affiliate network.

The rights a reader has and how to use them

As a reader, you have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to request correction or deletion, and to object to analytics tracking. Because we do not collect personal data, the most common request is to confirm that we hold nothing that identifies you. You can exercise these rights by emailing us at the address on the contact page. We respond within 30 days. You do not need to create an account or provide ID to make a request.

To stop analytics tracking, you can block cookies in your browser or use a browser extension that blocks trackers. To remove any preference cookie, clear your browser's cookies for this site. If you have emailed us and want your message deleted, say so in a follow-up email and we will remove it from our inbox. For data held by a broker, you must contact the broker directly; we cannot access or delete data in your broker account.

Your rights are limited by the fact that we hold almost no personal data. We cannot show you a profile of your browsing because we do not build one. We cannot delete calculator inputs because they never leave your browser. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you can complain to us first; if unresolved, you may contact the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction. For broker-related data, the broker's complaint process and its regulator apply.

Brokers set their own cookies

When you follow a link to a broker, that broker's site sets its own cookies and handles your data under its own privacy policy. That policy is between you and the broker, and we cannot see, change or delete what it collects. Read it before you open an account, particularly the sections on identity checks and record keeping.

The same applies to funding. If you send money by local INR bank transfer, card or e-wallet, the payment provider and the broker record that transaction under their own terms. The regulator caveat we repeat is that FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by SEBI, so an Indian reader should treat the broker's own disclosures as the governing document.

FAQ

Common questions

What information does Deccan Primer collect when I visit?

The site collects what a standard web server and analytics setup records, such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type, plus anything you type into the contact form. We do not ask for trading account numbers, passwords or broker login details, and you should never send them to an editorial site.

Do you store the messages I send through the contact form?

Messages sent through the contact form are kept so the desk can read, check and reply to them, and so a correction can be traced later. We do not sell them or add you to a marketing list. Ask us to delete a message and we will remove it once any open correction is closed.

Does the site use cookies, and can I turn them off?

The site uses cookies for basic function and for measuring which pages are read, and affiliate links may set their own cookies when you click through to a broker. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them may affect how some pages and calculators behave.

Are my calculator inputs for position size or margin saved?

Calculator inputs such as lot size, entry price or leverage are processed in your browser to produce the result and are not stored as a personal record of your trading. Nothing you type into the margin or profit calculator is treated as an account instruction, because the desk has no access to any account.

Will Deccan Primer share my details with FxPro or another broker?

No. We do not pass contact form details to FxPro or any other broker. If you click an affiliate link and open an account, the broker collects your information under its own privacy policy, not ours. Read that policy separately, since verification and funding data sit with the broker, not this desk.
